975c. Edward The Martyr King Of England Anglo Saxon

Edward in Old English: Eadweard c. 962 – 18 March 978, often called the Martyr, was King of the English from 975 to 978 at just 12 years old. Edward was the eldest son of King Edgar the Peaceful but was not his father’s acknowledged heir. On Edgar’s death, the leadership of England was heavily contested, with a split of some supporting Edward’s claim to be King and others supporting his younger half-brother Æthelred the Unready. The latter was recognised as a legitimate son of King Edgar. Ultimately Edward was chosen as King and was crowned by his prominent clerical supporters, archbishops Dunstan of Canterbury Cathedral and Oswald of York.

The great noble men of the kingdom, Ealdormen, Ælfhere and Æthelwine, argued, and civil war nearly broke out. In the so-called anti-monastic reaction, the nobles took advantage of Young Edward’s weakness to dispose of the Benedictine reformed monasteries of lands and other properties that King Edgar had granted them.

Although supported by Archbishop Dunstan, his claim to the throne was heavily contested by supporters of his much younger half-brother Aethelred. The resulting dispute between rival factions within the church and nobles almost led to civil war. Edward’s short reign ended when he was murdered at Corfe Castle by followers of Aethelred after just two and half years as King. The title ‘martyr’ resulted from him being seen as a victim of his stepmother’s ambitions for her son Aethelred.

“Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.”

Disclaimer: True Race Facts have made the long overdue honest determination that the King was dark brown, aka BLACK of the Hebrew, Shemitic negro race. Based on his facial phenotype, lips and thick braided hairstyle. Authentic original coins are the most accurate determination to identify the King because he would have approved the coins before they were hammered and issued. There are many ancient FAKE coins on the market, so beware when looking at coins. The deceivers made it their mission to cover up the dark ages, so even history should now be considered pseudo-history.
