King Sihtric ( Sigtryggr) or Sitric Cáech or Sigtrygg Gále was a Hiberno-Scandinavian Viking leader who ruled Dublin, Ireland and then Viking Northumbria, England in the early 10th century. (d.927), Norse King of York. A grandson of Ivarr the Boneless, ‘king of all the Scandinavians of Ireland and Britain’, Sihtric joined forces with another grandson, Ragnall, in 917 to recover Dublin, lost in 902. Moving out from Waterford, they devastated Munster and Leinster and recaptured Dublin. Next, Sihtric won a crushing victory over Niall, king of Ulster. The Scandinavians succeeded in recapturing the kingdom, and in 941, Sihtric’s son Olaf was in possession.

This is crazy btw even white Viking was depicted as taht and wore cornrows which Americans think they invented lol so if ur going on the coin image then that means absolutely nothing . But we do know there was black Viking graves in Scandinavia they joined forces after white European Vikings traveled down the Silk Road in to Africa the thing is skin never mattered what mattered was your religion and willingness to join the team then u was Viking because Viking isn’t a race it’s a culture
Great post I had no idea that the Vikings even had coins in their likeness. Hollywood has always depicted them as being caucasion but the Kings features are obviously negro. Thank you for enlightening me.
